Digitization and the Polish cause

– Digitizing administration is a necessary condition for the success of the Strategy for Responsible Growth – it is absolutely fundamental. I am concerned with news reports about a possible dismantling of the Ministry of Digitization and consider it a dangerous idea that will only exacerbate the pervasive divisions and lack of communication between the ministries – President of Employers of Poland Andrzej Malinowski writes in “Rzeczpospolita".

We need a strong and independent agency to carry out programs important for the Strategy. Administration officials and entrepreneurs should be only a single mouse click away. Only then can a fruitful cooperation between the state and business occur. Such a cooperation is a condition for economic success – he states. – Where are the digital patient records and prescriptions needed to thoroughly reform healthcare? How long do we have to wait for an ID with a digital layer? When will employers and employees meet in virtual job centers? – he asks.

Entrepreneurs hope that such a strong agency is established. What good will it be to start projects that would make the Silicon Valley pale in comparison and invest millions in innovation if the state administration continues to live in the XIX century? Should this be the case, no effort will bring much good. As the old saying goes, a chain is as strong as its weakest link, and in the chain of Polish economy it is the backwards administration that is creaking – concludes the President of Employers of Poland.
